MISSION:

It is the mission of the Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization to advocate for inclusive public policy and provide social and recreational opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to assist them in achieving their full potential as individuals, as employees and as members of their communities.

At the Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live a meaningful, empowered, and connected life.

Our mission is rooted in advocacy, inclusion, and community. We work to champion equitable public policies that recognize and uphold the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At the same time, we create and support social and recreational opportunities that foster connection, confidence, and joy.

We understand that true inclusion goes beyond access—it means belonging. That’s why our programs are designed to help individuals grow not only as participants, but as contributors: as employees, neighbors, leaders, and friends.

Through collaboration with families, local partners, and the broader community, we strive to break down barriers and open doors. Whether it’s advocating for systemic change or creating spaces where individuals can build relationships and explore their interests, our goal is the same: to empower every person we serve to reach their full potential.

Because when individuals are supported, included, and valued, entire communities thrive.
