I am one of the Adult Advocates at DCARO, and pictured with me is Tyreke—an individual I have had the privilege of advocating for over the past three years. We have built a strong, trusting relationship, and I know he relies on me to ensure his voice is heard and his needs are supported. I truly love the work I do and the opportunity to help individuals with intellectual disabilities live fulfilling, self‑directed lives.
In my role at DCARO, I educate individuals and their families about the services available to them and guide them through complex systems. As Adult Advocates, we work to ease the burden on families by providing dedicated support, resources, and advocacy every step of the way.
DCARO is committed to empowering adults with intellectual disabilities by offering advocacy, resources, and social‑recreational opportunities that help each person reach their fullest potential.
