In Honor of Matt & In Memory of Russ Wetherill

The Wetherills - Rus, Donna and Matthew

Rus and I met in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and after we wed, we adopted Matthew at 4-1/2 months old.  Matthew has Down Syndrome, severe Autism, severe Sensory Integration Disorder, epilepsy, visual impairments and other medical concerns.  But above all of that Matthew has a wicked sense of humor and a heart full of joy!

I have held many positions in Delaware County for IDD services and Rus worked for Elwyn as head of Fire Safety and Security as well as at Delta Community Services in the IT Department.

Currently, Matthew is 34 years old and lives at home with me.  Sadly, Rus, his father, passed away after a long illness in July 2023.  

DCARO has always been a huge support to the Wetherills and continues to be so.  Without DCARO's support and assistance, I believe as though it would be almost impossible for Matt to continue to live at home.  For this reason, I am asking you to support DCARO in its ongoing mission.
