May 8-9: Delco Gives Day Events

May 9: Closing Celebration: Rose Tree Park (4:30 – 7:30 p.m.) Join us for the grand finale of Delco Gives Day at the Closing Celebration! This event will feature family-friendly activities and an ice cream giveaway, and iHeart Radio DJs and Bex and Buster will broadcast live, and Gritty, the Phillie Phanatic and Phang will make an appearance. Jason Martinez from Fox 29 will MC, guiding us through an evening celebrating the Delco spirit. Don’t miss out on this community wide celebration!! May 8: Kick-Off Event, Dining Under the Stars: Veterans Square, Media (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.) Including performances from Marple Newtown High School Cheerleaders, Next Gen Theatre's "Kiss Me Kate," Garnet Valley High School, various musical theater numbers, L'Levatate Dance Studio, and Media Theatre's "Seussical the Musical." Featuring food trucks, a beer garden, and a Scooped ice cream giveaway. Cecily Tynan from 6ABC will be our MC, guiding us through the evening. Join us as we officially launch Delco Gives Day!

May 8: Kick-Off Event: Chester City Hall, Chester (4:00 - 8:00 p.m.) Join us for the Chester Block Party: Delco Gives, Chester Creates! Enjoy live performances from dance groups, DJs, and local artists. Featuring delicious offerings from local Chester restaurants, interactive activities for all ages, and plenty of opportunities to connect with your neighbors.

May 9: Breakfast Tailgates (7:30 - 10:00 a.m.): Join us on the morning of May 9th to kick off Delco Gives Day - day 2! Anyone is welcome to join us at one of our three locations to proudly wave Delco Gives signs to usher in the day. We’ll have breakfast sandwiches and coffee for volunteers.

About Delco Gives Day

Delco Gives Day is a 24-hour county-wide day of giving/community celebration, hosted by The Foundation for Delaware County, where people will make a donation to their favorite nonprofits (or peruse new ones) on the delcogives.org site. Each donation is eligible for bonus money provided by the Foundation, and there will be cash prizes sponsored by local businesses given out throughout the day. The inaugural Delco Gives Day will be held May 8 - 9, 2024 (7:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Online activity will be accompanied by a number of celebrations held throughout the county that bring together nonprofits, donors, businesses, and volunteers to showcase the power of collective action and community giving. Delco Gives Day is more than just a fundraising event; it's a celebration of the Delco generosity and community spirit.
