Meet My Buddy Corey
As Executive Director of DCARO, I’ve had the privilege of advocating alongside many incredible individuals—but Corey’s journey stays with me every day. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with Corey to help him access the supports and services he deserves. Like so many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the path wasn’t always easy.
Through persistence, partnership, and advocacy, Corey recently achieved something truly life-changing: a new living arrangement that meets his needs and allows him to live with greater independence and dignity. Seeing him thrive in this new chapter has been incredibly rewarding.
Corey is more than someone I have advocated for—he is a constant reminder of why this work matters. His strength and determination inspire me daily and fuel my commitment to ensuring others have the same opportunities. Anf best of all, Corey is my friend.
