What is an Offline Gift?
An offline gift is a donation made outside of DelcoGives.org (like a check, donor-advised fund grant, stock gift, or IRA rollover) that your organization receives from April 1 through May 7 (midnight) and is clearly designated by the donor for Delco Gives.

Starting April 1, these gifts can be entered directly by your organization into your Delco Gives admin portal—Just keep donor designation documentation in case of an audit by our finance team.

What's a Sponsor Match?

A sponsor match (or simply, "match") is funding your organization secures from a business, donor, or foundation to match other gifts on Delco Gives. It's a powerful way to encourage other people to give and boost urgency. Think of it as a multiplier for generosity!

You'll enter sponsor match details in your dashboard, and it shows live on your giving page, creating excitement as donors see their impact multiply.

Details and Rules

  • No dollar limits. There's no minimum or maximum for offline gifts or sponsor matches. Donations must be designated by the donor for Delco Gives. Keep your backup documentation, as we may audit for ethical and fair play.
  • No fees on offline gifts/sponsor matches! That's right—zero fees for offline and sponsor match gifts.
  • Reporting and bonus pool. Offline and sponsor match gifts count toward your total dollars raised and for the bonus pool, but are not eligible for prizes. Only credit card gifts made through DelcoGives.org during the 24-hour event are eligible for prizes.
  • Direct entry. You can enter offline gifts or sponsor matches, in any amount and as many as you'd like, right from your admin portal starting on April 1. So, if you receive a check, donor-advised fund gift, or stock gift at your office from a donor designated for Delco Gives, you can enter it yourself on the admin portal, and it will be part of your total raised!
  • Entry dates and info. Offline gifts may be entered from April 1 – May 11. Matches may be entered at any time.
  • Acknowledgements. Your organization sends the tax acknowledgements for these offline gifts and/or sponsor matches.
  • Foundation support is still available. If your organization is not equipped to handle donations made via appreciated stock or other assets, The Foundation for Delaware County can still process these donations of $500 or more on your behalf and issue the tax receipt. Contact Monika Collins at mcollins@delcofoundation.org to route the donation to us, and it will be part of your total on Delco Gives!
  • Auditing. To ensure ethical and fair play, The Foundation for Delaware County may audit offline and sponsor gifts. Keep documentation for all entries. Here are some examples of acceptable and unacceptable uses:

Acceptable

  • A check, stock donation, or donor-advised fund donation is received by your organization that is made payable to your organization and earmarked by the donor for Delco Gives.
  • You or a donor has an in-person event, such as a house party, to specifically raise money for Delco Gives on or right before Delco Gives, and you enter the proceeds on the platform as an offline gift.
  • A local business wants to be a sponsor for $5,000 to show up as a sponsor match on your Delco Gives page to encourage other donors to give, as their gift will be matched.

Not acceptable

  • You have an annual fundraising campaign for your organization in March and apply all the proceeds to an offline gift.
  • You receive a $50,000 grant from another foundation for your capital campaign and enter it as an offline gift.
  • You send a communication to donors that all gifts made during February to May are considered "for Delco Gives", and you capture them as offline gifts.
