ur StoryScott Arboretum & Gardens encompasses the idyllic campus of Swarthmore College with 350+ acres of beautiful gardens, diverse plant collections, and hiking trails. Free and open to the public from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, Scott Arboretum & Gardens offers some of the most intimate, authentic, and accessible horticultural experiences in Delaware County. Established in 1929 as a living memorial to Arthur Hoyt Scott (Swarthmore Class of 1895), the mission of the Scott Arboretum & Gardens is to delight, educate, and inspire visitors to enjoy the many benefits of horticulture, whatever their resources or expertise.
