For more than 70 years, the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology (P.I.T.) has been making a difference in students' lives, preparing thousands for rewarding careers.

It's more than just a college — it’s a lifeline for a remarkable community of students. Over 85% of our students are women, many of whom come from underserved backgrounds, bringing with them resilience, determination, and hope.

P.I.T. is primarily a two-year college serving over 1400 students annually and offering healthcare certificates and degrees, such as Practical Nursing, Pre-Nursing, and Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ultrasound) - just to name a few. We truly make a difference in the lives of our students through hands-on, individualized attention offered to prepare each student for the jobs they, more often than not, have secured before graduating.

Here are some facts about our student population that may interest you and why we hope you'll choose to invest in P.I.T. and its students:

  • 70%+ of our students are people of color

  • 86% of our students are women, many balancing school with responsibilities of parenthood

  • 96% receive financial aid, with over 80% receiving Pell grants — a powerful reminder of how vital access and affordability are to our mission

  • Almost all P.I.T. students are low or very low income with the average earning just under $24,500 annually when they join P.I.T.

  • Many are single mothers and/or the first in their family to go college
