Join Us for Delco Gives Day: Empower Chester’s Children Through Music, Math, and More!

Forget everything you think you know about a children’s choir—because the Chester Children’s Chorus (CCC) is so much more than music! Our incredible kids, from 3rd to 12th grade, are not just talented singers; they’re also mathematicians, budding scientists, chefs, photographers, and future leaders.

What started in 1994 with just seven boys has grown into a transformative, year-round music and math education program that has impacted nearly 1,000 children. Now, you have the chance to be part of this incredible journey!

Why Chester?

Chester is a city filled with bright, resilient children, but it has long been underserved. Consider this:

• 31% of residents live in poverty.




• 30% of residents do not own a car.




• 20% of housing is subsidized.

What Makes the CCC Special?

• Free year-round programming—because every child deserves access to opportunity.




• Music and math education—twice a week during the school year and every weekday in the summer.




• Round-trip transportation and meals provided—ensuring no barriers to participation.




• 8-12 concerts per year—giving children the chance to perform and shine in their community.




• A five-week Summer Learning Program—where kids explore reading, science, art, cooking, swimming, and more.

Our Math Practice Program: A Game-Changer

• Only 3% of Chester’s children practice math at or above grade level. Imagine being in 9th grade algebra without fully understanding long division. That’s why we created the Math Practice Program in 2017.

Did you know? CCC is likely the only children’s choir in the country with a full-time math program! In fact, our children spend just as much time practicing math as they do rehearsing music.

• Elementary students receive small-group instruction from our dedicated math teachers.




• Older students are paired with Swarthmore College student math coaches for personalized support.

A Summer to Remember!

For five weeks each summer, the Swarthmore College campus is alive with the sound of joy, laughter, and learning. Our Summer Learning Program helps prevent summer learning loss and fosters creativity, curiosity, and confidence. In addition to music and math, our children dive into science, reading, art, swimming, photography, and so much more.
