Why Our Work Matters

At Launch of Philadelphia, we empower individuals at every stage of life to achieve academic and career success. Whether through apprenticeship programs preparing the next generation of IT professionals or afterschool programs for elementary and middle school students, we provide a safe, supportive environment—especially for young people impacted by violence. At the heart of our work is a simple belief: every member of our community can succeed when given the right tools and opportunities.

Join us on Saturday, October 17, 2026, as Launch of Philadelphia celebrates their 40th Anniversary —marking four decades of empowering youth and adults through educational programs and workforce opportunities that prepare them for success in school and in life. This milestone is a powerful testament to our proven social impact model and the thousands of lives we have helped to transform along with the partnerships that make it possible. Together, we are advancing inclusive growth, reducing violence, and helping individuals throughout our region thrive. Our theme, “Launching Futures: Celebrating 40 Years of Community Impact,” captures our shared commitment to building a more resilient and equitable Greater Philadelphia.

How We Help

  • Teen Parent (ELECT) Classrooms (TPC) provides a comprehensive network of education, health and support services designed to assist pregnant and/or parenting students (females and males) in the completion of their high school education or equivalency so they can make successful transitions into self sufficiency and parenthood.
  • Southwest Philly Peace Project program is more than just an afterschool program at our Education Center—it is a lifeline for middle school-aged youth in West and Southwest Philadelphia who have witnessed or been victims of trauma. This program is designed to help reduce incidents of violence and build resilience through a combination of pro-social education and health-focused activities.
  • Out of School Time program supports elementary students in North Philadelphia. Our centers provide a safe and nurturing environment for kids. The overall focus of the program is to reduce and prevent future involvement with social services, reduce delinquency, prevent violence and other anti-social behaviors that jeopardize the health and wellness of youth.
  • Launch and its partners created the first Information Technology apprenticeship program registered with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Now this award-winning program is expanding by adding a new apprenticeship program in AI and Cybersecurity.

Become Part of Our Success Story

Launch of Philadelphia staff build strong connections with families and volunteers in the community. These relationships help ensure that everyone in our programs has access to safe learning spaces, resources to stay healthy, and support from caring adults who can guide their career paths.

This year, Launch of Philadelphia is celebrating 40 years of service, advocacy, and impact in the community. We invite businesses, partners, and community leaders to support this important milestone through sponsorship and donation, helping us continue and grow our mission.

Please consider partnering with us through a sponsorship or donation to help all children and adults succeed!
