Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is one of the oldest community orchestras in the Greater Philadelphia area. Founded in 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lansdowne, we have been performing at the Upper Darby High School Performing Arts Center Drexel Hill for more than 20 years. Our talented musicians come from all walks of life and all share a deep love and appreciation for music.

We perform five concerts each season, from November to May. The repertoire includes orchestral music from the Baroque through contemporary classics, including time-honored favorites and interesting rarities. Our December concert includes the 200+ member Upper Darby Concert Choir, performing holiday favorites from Spirituals to contemporary holiday classics and culminating in the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.

Our 2026-2027 Season will be announced in September. Please visit out website at https://lansdowneso.org
