Discover Haverford

Discover Haverford (formerly HPED - Haverford Partnership for Economic Development) was founded in 2009 to address deterioration in our business districts and numerous storefront vacancies. Over the past 15 years, our work has contributed to revitalization and increased vitality in our business districts and public spaces, an improved quality of life for residents, and an increase in property values.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, working in partnership with local government, businesses, commercial property owners and residents to promote economic growth throughout Haverford Township. 

Our mission is to boost the local economy by promoting Haverford Township as a shopping and dining destination, hosting events in the business districts such as the Haverfood Festival, Shop Small Saturday, Love Local Nights, and the Havertown Holiday Festival. We revitalize our business districts and public spaces by adding planters, gardens, fountains, street lights, welcome signs, trash cans and benches. 

We also provide support to our local small businesses – business workshops and opportunities for networking, new business articles, ribbon-cutting events, and marketing. Over the past two years we have also managed two matching grant programs for Haverford Township, giving grants to over 30 businesses for Façade and interior work.

We rely on the support of residents and the local business community. We’ve accomplished so much and we’d love to do more to make our township a nicer place to live, work, and shop.
