Upper Chichester sits at the southern end of Delaware County — about 17,000 people across seven square miles, from the homes around Boothwyn and Ogden to the industrial corridor along I-95. If you've lived in Delco for a while, you know Upper Chi. It's a working, close-knit community, and for more than a century, it's been looked after by volunteers and career professionals.

That tradition is what Boothwyn's EMS is built on.

When someone in the township calls 911 for a medical emergency, our EMS responders are the ones who show up. Chest pain. A fall at home. A car accident on I-95. A seizure. A kid struggling to breathe. We come, we assess, we treat, and we get people to the hospital when they need it — all with a willing heart, because these are our neighbors.

What most people don't realize is how much it costs to run a quality EMS operation. Medical supplies get used up on every call. Equipment wears out or times out. Certifications and training have to stay current. Vehicles have to be repaired or replaced. All of our staff are career EMS providers ... so there are payroll, benefits, and insurance costs to consider.  As we all know, these costs only go up.

That's where Delco Gives comes in. Every dollar donated to Boothwyn's EMS goes directly into providing quality care for our township and the surrounding communities: the supplies on the rig, new equipment as the old stuff ages out, and the training that keeps our responders sharp.  Plus, much more.

If you're reading this, you probably already care about Upper Chi. Thank you for helping us take care of it.
