Wayne Cares Mission

Wayne Cares is dedicated to alleviating hunger within our local community. Our mission is to provide and maintain a network of volunteers who provide food and other material support to people in need, primarily serving Radnor Township and surrounding Delaware counties.

Wayne Cares began more than 20 years ago as a small, volunteer-run food pantry at Wayne United Methodist Church, created to support neighbors facing food insecurity in the Main Line community. Over time, we have grown into a trusted and consistent resource, expanding our reach through partnerships with organizations like Philabundance, as well as local retailers, to share surplus food and supplies within our community.

In March 2022, Wayne Cares transitioned into an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, a milestone that has allowed us to increase our impact and long-term sustainability. Today, we proudly serve over 75 households every Wednesday by operating a guest-choice, grocery-style food pantry while continuing to evolve—enhancing our programs, improving infrastructure and working to ensure that no member of our community faces hunger alone.
