Newtown Public Library

The Friends of Newtown Public Library, Inc. is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization proudly fundraising for the Newtown Public Library in Newtown Square.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Once Upon a Run - Festival & 5K on Sunday, April 19th!

In 2025 alone, Newtown Public Library hosted 230 programs—145 for children and 85 for adults—welcoming more than 8,600 attendees through its doors. From Glow Parties and Family Fort Night for our youngest readers to author visits, yoga, mah jongg, P.U.B. Quizzo, art exhibits, language conversation groups,  multiple book clubs and Wi-Fi sessions for adults researching, communicating, and taking care of daily business, the Newtown Public Library is truly a place where everyone can connect, learn, and belong.

The Friends of Newtown Public Library exist to provide support beyond what municipal funding alone cannot. Here's a glimpse of recent additional offerings made possible through our funding:

• Museum Passes - free admission to a variety of regional museums and cultural attractions such as Elmwood Park Zoo, Chanticleer, Please Touch Museum
• Hotspots - connectivity beyond the library ensuring everyone has access to reliable internet
• Weekly Wellness Yoga - community based yoga sessions reaching full registration weekly 
• Outdoor Patio Furniture - comfortable upgraded seating to help create a welcoming space to read, relax and gather
• Meeting Room Furnishings - Tables and seating for this new library space for community meetings, group study and library programming
