Please Help Us Reach 200,000 Meals for Impoverished Children!

Like to help reduce childhood hunger and malnutrition?  So would the congregation and community volunteers at Newtown Square Presbyterian Church!

We invite you to join us on this mission to help underserved people achieve food security and resilience through nutrition and education with Rise Against Hunger.

Rise Against Hunger is a non-denominational organization that provides meals to impoverished children worldwide. What sets Rise Against Hunger apart is its commitment to both nutrition and childhood education. They partner with schools to cook the food on-site, so children receive a nourishing meal, and get an education as well. For many, these meals are their only reliable source of daily nutrition. Parents send their children to school for the food, enrollments rise, and children get to concentrate on learning – rather than hunger.

Each year, volunteers – from young children to young-at-heart seniors – gather together for a lively two hour packing event at the church, looking beyond their own needs to help their neighbors.

Working side by side, participants package meals consisting of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and essential vitamins. The bags are sealed, labeled, and loaded into trucks. The atmosphere is energetic and joyful, with music playing and celebratory gongs marking every 1,000 meals packed. Together, we package 20,000 meals - and in 2027, our tenth year, we are proud to aim for a remarkable milestone: our 200,000th meal!

To reach this goal, we rely on generous supporters like you. It costs approximately $8,000 to supply the ingredients for 20,000 meals. So at just 40 cents per meal, a donation of $40 can provide 100 meals for children in need. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes an impact, and brings us closer to our goal.
