The Historic Lansdowne Theater has returned as a vibrant center for the arts and a catalyst for economic and cultural growth in Delaware County! Your support will help ensure this historic treasure continues to enrich our region for generations to come.
The Lansdowne Theater is a beloved centerpiece in the heart of Lansdowne's central business district. Built in 1927 as an opulent movie palace, patrons enjoyed the building’s ornate Spanish Revival design until an electrical fire forced its closure in 1987.
After years of planning, fundraising, and restoration, and with support from government, foundations, and hundreds of individual donors, the Lansdowne Theater is once again buzzing with life. Today, the beautifully restored 1280-seat theater welcomes patrons, hosts sold-out shows, and brings new energy to the heart of our community, spurring economic development and supporting local restaurants, businesses, and cultural life.
The restoration has been widely celebrated for its careful preservation of historic detail and its status as a premier regional concert venue. Local independent concert promoter BRE Presents operates the theater, bringing world-class performers to the stage, while the non-profit Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation (HLTC) remains the steward of the building, ensuring the Lansdowne continues to serve as a vibrant, well-maintained centerpiece of the community.
Your donation to HLTC through Delco Gives helps sustain this extraordinary space — preserving its history and safeguarding its future, while broadening access to the arts and supporting economic growth throughout Delaware County.
