2026 Delco Gives Fundraiser

The Craig D. Butler Scholarship Foundation was created in January 2020 to honor the life of Craig D. Butler — a father whose integrity, generosity, and love for his community still guide us today. Craig was shot and murdered in 1999 by a 14‑year‑old boy, a tragedy that changed his family forever. From that pain, a promise was born: to transform loss into legacy and ensure young people have opportunities that prevent cycles of violence and despair.

Each year, we award two $1,000 scholarships to African American high school seniors in Pennsylvania and South Jersey. These students are bright, determined, and often carrying the weight of financial barriers that threaten their dreams. Our work extends beyond scholarships — it’s about education, violence interruption, and community wellness:

• Education: Bridging the education gap for minority and low‑income students while actively disrupting the school‑to‑prison pipeline.
• Violence Interruption: Redirecting youth from gun violence toward education, purpose, and possibility through resource events and career fairs.
• Community Wellness: Offering scholarship workshops to parents of low‑income students so families feel supported, informed, and empowered.
