Why I'm giving to All In for Delco

When you spend time around Delaware County's nonprofits, you start to notice how much of daily life here runs through them.

The food pantry and the youth orchestra. The homeless shelter and the historical society. The animal rescue, the after-school program, the watershed group, the senior center, the theater company. More than 300 organizations across Delco show up every day for causes their neighbors care about — and most of us, at one point or another, have been on the receiving end of that work without even realizing it.

That's why I'm giving to the All In for Delco Fund this year.

Every dollar in the pool is distributed to every participating nonprofit at the close of the campaign, based on how many donors show up. One gift to All In for Delco lands at all 300+ organizations doing this work — across every cause, every part of the county, every size.

Last year, 11,702 donors moved more than $2.2 million in 24 hours, and 88% of participating organizations received a gift from someone who had never given to them before. That's what this campaign does at its best: it introduces neighbors to neighbors, and reminds us how much of what we love about Delco is held up by people choosing to give their time and their money to it.
