Every day, families right here in Delaware County are facing impossible choices between groceries and rent, gas and dinner, feeding themselves or their children. Hunger doesn’t always look the way people expect… but it’s here, and it’s closer than most realize.

At Kids Against Hunger United, we believe no one should have to make those choices.

That’s why we show up, not just to provide food, but to provide hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

Who We Are

Kids Against Hunger United is a 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization committed to feeding the hungry through food sharing, advocacy, and community engagement both globally and right here at home.

Since 2015, we’ve packed and distributed over 13 million meals, with 90% staying local. The remaining meals have been sent to those facing crisis, providing relief during natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.

But our work is about more than meals.

It’s about showing up for people in their hardest moments and reminding them they are not alone.

Community Food Pantry

In 2023, we expanded our mission and opened a community food pantry and it quickly became something more than just a place to get food.

This is a place where families can:

• shop for the food they actually need
• feel welcomed, not judged
• leave with dignity not just groceries

It’s where a parent can breathe a little easier knowing there’s milk in the fridge.
Where a child can pick out something they love.
Where kindness is felt in every interaction.

And through Pop Pop’s Stash, every family leaves with a small treat, a reminder that they matter and are cared for.

Pantry Closets in Schools See a school pantry closet in action

Hunger doesn’t end when a child walks into school.

That’s why we’re bringing support directly to students through our Pantry Closet Program providing discreet access to food and essentials right where they are.

Because no child should have to:

• sit in class distracted by hunger
• worry about what they’ll eat that night
• feel embarrassed asking for help

What makes this program even more powerful is the way our community comes together to sustain it. Through our Pantry Partners model, schools don’t just receive support they become part of the solution.

Schools, student groups, and community partners work together to host food drives, fundraisers, and service projects to keep these closets stocked year-round. In many cases, one school will “adopt” another creating a ripple effect of compassion, leadership, and shared responsibility.

We’re not just filling closets we’re building a culture of giving, where students learn the power of helping others and communities come together to ensure no child goes without.

Meal Packing: Feeding Families Near and Far See a meal packing event in action

In addition to our pantry programs, we bring the community together to pack nutritious meals that help fight hunger both locally and globally.

Volunteers of all ages come together to package meals like apple cinnamon oatmeal, fiesta rice, and a rice & veggie meal simple, nourishing food that makes a real difference for families facing food insecurity.

These events don’t just provide meals.
They create connection, purpose, and a shared mission, bringing people together to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Many of these meals stay right here in our community, while others reach families in crisis around the world.
