Newtown Square in Bloom, a 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization EIN 81-5352805, raises funds and accepts donations from residents and local businesses for plants and street trees. 

Newtown Square in Bloom brings visible, lasting impact to our community, transforming everyday spaces into vibrant, welcoming, and environmentally beneficial places. Your support directly funds the flowers, plantings, and care that enhance our main streets, support pollinators, and build community pride.

As the only Pennsylvania member of America in Bloom, Newtown Square in Bloom has been leading local beautification efforts since 2016. What started as a recommendation from national judges has grown into a dedicated volunteer-driven program with measurable results across the Township.

Our signature Hanging Basket program—111 baskets lining major roads and neighborhood streets—is fully funded by donations. Volunteers water and maintain each basket throughout the season, ensuring consistent, high-quality displays from spring through fall.

We also maintain seasonal plantings at the Township’s Welcome Signs along West Chester Pike, refreshed four times per year, and coordinate matching floral displays at local bus stops—bringing color and care to highly visible public spaces.

In addition, our pollinator garden at Drexel Lodge Park transformed a once-unused lawn into a thriving habitat of native plants like milkweed and asters, supporting wildlife while creating a beautiful, educational destination for residents.

With 23 members and a core group of active volunteers, Newtown Square in Bloom meets monthly and contributes hundreds of volunteer hours annually.

Every dollar donated goes directly toward sustaining and expanding these efforts—keeping Newtown Square beautiful, welcoming, and environmentally resilient.

Newtown Square in Bloom seeks to:

• bolster civic pride through planting trees, bushes, and floral displays; as well as developing other environmental and lifestyle enhancements; • involve all aspects of Newtown Square communities including residents, businesses, municipal and non-profit entities in planting & beautifying Newtown Square; • strengthen our sense of community with volunteer participation from all different age populations from school age children to older adults.
