Women can’t go to work without bras, parents can’t use daycare services without diapers, and children can’t succeed academically without school supplies. Mitzvah Circle's Critical Needs for Healthy Families, Diaper Bank, and Period Supply programs produce lasting community change and the holistic assistance we provide, which includes home delivery and social work support, results in significant progress as families are empowered to go to work and school and participate in everyday life with hope and dignity. We take the most urgent calls and pressing requests for support from mental health counseling centers, hospitals, early intervention services, children and youth services, and a variety of other community organizations and local governmental bodies daily. The high volume of calls we receive is due to Mitzvah Circle’s unique standing as the only nonprofit organization in southeastern Pennsylvania serving the entire family, from infants to seniors. We serve families grappling with rare and chronic diseases, kids on ventilators, individuals dealing with unemployment or underemployment, and single parents struggling to make ends meet while working and going to school. What’s more, we remove barriers, such as a lack of transportation, and deliver basic necessities directly to the doors of families facing difficult circumstances: poverty, serious illness, and homelessness. Families, social workers, and local organizations trust us and call on us because we are the most efficient resource for obtaining the basic essentials – clothing, diapers, menstrual products, toiletries – which stabilize households and enable people to engage in their communities with confidence. Simply put, Mitzvah Circle provides straightforward solutions to the problem of poverty, and we deliver.
