The Thomas Leiper Estate—also known as Avondale—is a preserved 18th-century historic site in Nether Providence Township, Delaware County. Saved from demolition in the 1960s during plans for the “Blue Route” the property was protected through the efforts of a group of residents who advocated for its preservation. Their work led to the Township’s acquisition of the estate in 1973, and they conducted the fundraising that enabled the initial restoration.

Today, the Friends of the Leiper House steward the property, maintaining the historic mansion and its outbuildings while offering guided tours on weekends from April through December, and curating a collection of materials related to the Leiper family. Located at 521 Avondale Road in Wallingford, the estate stands as a testament to community-driven preservation and local history.
